My name is Yulia Garvanovic. I was born and raised in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia. However, in 2008, after I graduated from N.Novgorod State Linquistic Univesity with a BA in Linguistics and Teaching English, I moved to the USA. Soon after, I started teaching English to immigrants and refugees from all over the world. In 2014, I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a MS in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I work at Second Start, New Hampshire Technical Institute, Southern New Hampshire University, and the Russian Language and Arts Center. In addition, I work with private students to prepare them for the TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, and ACT, or just work on their reading, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, or grammar skills. I love to teach and integrate technology into classroom instruction. I always try my best to make sure that my classes are fun, informative and relevant to the needs of my students. Confucius, a Chinese philosopher, once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I think this is exactly how I feel about my job as an ESL teacher.
